Educators should teach in their own manner but improving technology which in this day and age is far advanced will provide an easier and helpful method of teaching for both the educator and student alike.
Chats can be of value in the classroom if several students have questions and need help on an issue a chat can be used to get everybody on the same page.
In most classroom situations, I find it easier to use face to face communication but in certain situations when a student has a quick question an email would suffice.
A podcast can enhance the learning experience of a student in some ways and allow them to learn at their own pace and in the comfort of their own room.
I think only certain video games can help develop your studying because only certain ones have any beneficial educational value to them. I somewhat agree with the article but would rather my children develop different study habits.

I agree with your post. In my blog about this topic I stated that the one positive to email vs. face to face is that you can respond at your own time and you also are able to think about your thoughts before you speak. Compared to face to face when people are likely to speak before thinking. When I have children I do think it is okay for them to play video games daily as long as requirements are made (ex: homework & chores). My husband plays his 360 online, so it would be hard to tell my kids no when he is playing in the living room =)
ReplyDeleteI do agree with the article simply because videogame developing is a great way to make the students feel involved with the class instead of the teacher just constantly lecturing. If they think they are involved in the developing of the lesson it will encourage them to do a good job on doing the actual assignment.
Blake I agree with your post. face to face communication is defintely better than recieving e mails. Sometimes it can be hard in understanding what the teavher is saying in a e mail.
